a closer look

Remember me from time to time. Remember how much
I loved you.

Kurt Vonnegut

one of my favorite quotes of all time.

Invested energy time and affection to another being

Expecting the same in return

Blinded by the idea of love

I let it go on for too long

Now I sit here alone contemplating

The thoughts of what we could be like

Till never my lost lover .  . .

Something else is hurting you - that’s why you need pot or whiskey, or whips and rubber suits, or screaming music turned so fucking loud you can’t think.

I kissed her and saw that her eyes were shut. I kissed both her shut eyes. I thought she was probably a little crazy. It was all right if she was. I did not care what I was getting into.

Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms (via boogeywoman)

Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk. It doesn’t have to be a romantic walk in the park, spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world. It doesn’t have to be a walk during which you’ll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself. Find meaning or don’t find meaning but “steal” some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.
